Just got back from Louisville, Kentucky from the Humana Festival with Kathleen and Melissa. I'm kinda zonked but the weekend was a blast and I saw some awesome theater and met some great people. Highlights for me were Becky Shaw, the break/s, and seeing my friend Reyna de Courcy in Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom. The last piece was a fitting tie for my next project with the 'phibs, First Person Shooter.

I haven't posted lately on fieldingonline.com mostly because I haven't had too much to discuss but yesterday I participated in a reading of Theresa Rebeck's unpublished play "The Understudy". Not sure what I can say about who's producing or artistic team on it but I got to meet Theresa who just so happens to be my neighbor in Park Slope! She was very kind and funny and I'm excited about this play and it's future life. It's about an actor who shows up for his first understudy rehearsal in the Broadway production of a newly unearthed Kafka play. This being a big hit Broadway show, there are of course two action movie stars playing the leads and the play deals with our industries' constant expectation and rejection in our jobs, our relationships, and our art. That's sounds a bit cerebral but the play is super funny and touching and I suppose we'll just wait and see what happens next with it!
