So, meeting Kevin Kline was fantastic. He shook my hand and asked me "where's the bathroom?" He's a truly gifted artist and it was clear during the reading how he has come to a place of integrity and stardom. I was fortunate to have a few brief scenes with him and although the Burgess translation of Cyrano is a bit long winded everyone in the room agreed that the event was a true celebration of words, of theater, and of good company. Equally impressive was David Leveux, director of Fiddler on the Roof, and Nine on Broadway. Mr. Leveux clearly had an eye for seeing the big picture without losing an appreciation of the intimacies of a play. I was very pleased with the entirety of the afternoon and hope to see this show on Broadway in the future.
